About Us

Joy of Movement Classes


Feel rejuvenated and refreshed at our holistic movement classes for women.

 

We are a friendly group of ladies of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities and our sessions are gently guided, low impact, easy to follow and great for beginners.


Breathe, stretch, move, dance and deeply relax with a guided mindfulness meditation to finish.

 

We especially welcome women who haven't moved in a long time, or 'ever' in a class situation as we are a very welcoming and non judgemental group who just love to move and dance with no worries of 'getting it right’. 


First trial class is free.


The Facilitator


Stella brings a warm and friendly atmosphere to her classes and has gained over 20 years experience in the many fields of dance and somatic movement. 


Since training at the Bird College of Performing Arts, the Royal Northern Ballet school and graduating as a Blue Belt in the Nia Technique, she began immersing herself in Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Mindful Movement and Meditation and has synthesised these varied holistic practises with her love of dance and movement to create a truly unique, and uplifting experience suitable for all levels of health and ranges of abilities.

Joy of Movement combines simple, flowing and easy to follow dance and mindful movement for women of all ages, fitness levels and experience. We encourage a sensory-based holistic approach with a focus on body sensation and feeling good rather than cardio fitness, though we do get fit in the process. Enjoy a time of breathing, stretching and non-impact joyful movement to a variety of uplifting and inspiring music. Participants are guided to follow their own energy levels and all classes end with mindful breathing and a meditative reflection / relaxation time.

 


Absolute beginners welcome and your first class is free.
