Joy of Movement combines simple, flowing and easy to follow movement and dance for women of all ages, fitness levels and experience. We encourage a sensory-based holistic approach with a focus on body sensation and feeling good rather than cardio fitness, though we do get fit in the process. Enjoy a time of breathing, stretching and non-impact joyful movement to a variety of uplifting and inspiring music.
Participants are guided to follow their own energy levels and all classes end with mindful breathing and a meditative reflection / relaxation time. We are proudly non - competitive and honour each others individual movement processes.
There is only one you and you move in your own unique way. You are even welcome to take a seat during the class anytime you wish!

I bring a warm, friendly and highly inclusive atmosphere to my classes and have over 20 years experience in the fields of dance, movement, mindfulness and meditation.
I love to share dance and movement with others and it is my greatest joy to create a harmonious atmosphere where everyone feels good about themselves and can learn to let go a little and feel at home in their bodies.
In recent years I have enjoyed taking Tai Chi, mindful movement and meditation classes of which I now bring some elements of into Joy of Movement.
I feel our class is a truly unique, and uplifting experience suitable for all levels and ranges of abilities.
I trained at the Bird College of Performing Arts, the Royal Northern Ballet school and also graduated as a Blue belt in the Nia Technique - a body-mind somatic movement and lifestyle practice.
I am fully insured.

We are a friendly group of ladies of all ages and abilities and our sessions are gently guided, low impact, easy to follow and great for beginners.
Breathe, stretch, move, dance and deeply relax with a guided mindfulness meditation to finish.
The music is diverse and to suit all tastes.
We especially welcome women who haven't moved in a long time, or 'ever' in a class situation as we are a very welcoming group who just love to move with no worries of 'getting it right'.
Excellent for all age groups, rehabilitation, new mums, older women and those who just want to get fit in a fun and nourishing way without worrying what it looks like!

Wear something you feel comfortable moving in and we encourage barefoot movement but this is not essential. Soft clean indoor shoes or non-slip socks are fine too.
The floor is lovely by the way!
Taster session is £9.
Tuesdays (FULL- waiting list) - 7 weeks from 10th Sept to 22nd October (£63).
Thursdays (FULL - waiting list) - 7 weeks from 5th Sept to 24th October (£63).
(no class on Thurs 26th Sept).
